Country: The North Macedonia
Partner-grantee: Association for Support of Marginalized Workers STAR-STAR Skopje
Project name: Coordinated, Synchronized and Comprehensive Healthcare Services for TG People Undergoing Transition in the Republic of North Macedonia
The Project goals and objectives:
Considering the fact that there are no systemic healthcare solutions, practices and/or standards in place in the Republic of North Macedonia for transgender individuals who have decided to undergo the transition process, the primary focus of this project is going to be oriented towards analyzing the degree to which the existing services address the actual needs of transgender people undergoing transition.
Once the benefits and drawbacks of the services currently offered are pinpointed, the project activities will be targeting the transgender community in terms of educating and informing them how, where and in what manner they can exercise their healthcare rights. In addition, and more importantly so, the scope of this project’s orientation envisages mobilizing and sensitizing a community of healthcare professionals who will have gathered a comprehensive insight into the needs of this vulnerable community, which will potentially make them better able to offer high quality services fully aligned with their specific needs.
